Examples of team-building activities which it is possible to organize in the grounds of the Hotel.
SPIDERS WEB – Teamwork, Communication
The aim of the task is for every member of the team to travel from one side of the web construction to the other, through different holes, as quickly as possible. But beware of the restrictions – if any part of the body or clothes or hair touches the web the whole team must start again!'
VIRUS - Improve Lateral Thinking, planning skills, and time management and to encourage teamwork
A Virus has been found on an island and has been placed in a container. Your task is to lift the container off the island and deposit it into a decontamination area. No person or object used can touch the contaminated island around The Virus.
4x4 TREASURE HUNT – Communication, Leadership
The aim is to find as many clues & treasures whilst driving a 4x4. Sounds easy? Guess Again! You will be blindfolded! The only help you'll receive will be from base group command! So effective communication skills are paramount! Can you solve the clues and reach the end of the course successfully? Your fate is in the hands of your team?!
CRYPTIC CHALLENGE - This fun event involves team imagination and logical thinking
Equipped with only a Polaroid camera, the teams face the challenge of solving cryptic clues! BUT BEWARE - The camera provided takes only 10 photos, and there are 10 clues to solve. So make sure you get it right.
SHEEP & SHEPHERD - Improves communication, leadership skills and develops trust
The shepherd must secure all his sheep (blindfolded guests!) in a pen by use of a whistle only. No other means of communication is allowed. The team must formulate a plan within a few minutes.
PIT STOP CHALLENGE – Good for bringing teams together for a competition – leadership, delegation, innovation and creativity
Teams must plan, budget and build a non-motorised speed machine using the materials provided. Every minute counts so it isn't just the vehicle that has to be quick!
LUMBERJACK BURDEN - To emphasis team work, planning and problem solving
The team must travel across a deep gorge with important "medical supplies" to friends trapped by a landslide whilst logging in the forest. But, needless to say, certain areas are unsafe and it's not as simple as it looks.
SWEET SENSATION - Great for time planning & leadership
This is a great end of day event for bringing teams together in a competitive team environment. Your team must plan, budget and build a sweet delivery facility for Ava Candy Ltd using the materials provided. Every minute counts as there will be limited time (and money) available.
Newsletters are distributed once a month and Health & Safety restrictions will apply, so it's not an easy task! Teams can also play against each other at the same time, so this is a great challenge to bring everyone together at the end of a day or alternatively as the day's main team build game.
"BLIND" RANGE ROVER DRIVING - Trust and listening skills
It will all be down to trust on this one! Take the drivers seat, position your blindfold and then you're off. Your instructor will guide you around a twisty course whilst 2 or 3 of your colleagues hang on in the back!
COLA TOWER - Lateral thinking, time management and teamwork
Your team must build the largest tower of the day with the basic materials given. The only problem is that the cola can must be balanced on the top before the official measurement can be taken.
BLIND SQUARE - Communication, listening skills and develops trust within the team
Your team's task, should you choose to accept it, is to form an accurate square with the limited materials available to you and then stand a log exactly in the middle of it. Easy? Not when you're all blindfolded!
SPACE SHUTTLE - Emphasis on Communication
A London company planning to relocate to New York needs to have its modern NY office block built quickly. Time is against them and it is critical that the building is completed before the move. Unfortunately due to the airport strikes they cannot send the building plans in time. The only way the architects in London can relay the plans is over the phone, however as this is an innovative design the security is important and they cannot relay certain words, colours, shapes and sizes.
PIPE DREAM - Teamwork, lateral thinking & time management

'BACKDRAFT' – Organisational skills, leadership and control under pressure
Ex-firefighters and volunteer fireman have described this team challenge as being 'quite realistic' but without the need for real fire! However, the use of our own fire engine, 'dressing up' and rescue of the office 'Moggie' lends some lighthearted FUN to the proceedings.
GULLY ISLAND SWING - Planning skills, problem solving and time management
The team and their fragile burden must travel across a "300ft ravine" by way of the hanging rope. Of course, many areas are out of bounds and should anyone "fall in" they must start again.

As a team of bomb disposal experts you have been brought in to disarm a bomb that could destroy the company.
